The Jefferson Middle School Academic Team
PAGE State Director Michelle Crawford
You might be an academic bowl member if...
Our team competes against schools regionally, statewide, and nationally (when qualifying) throughout the school year. Students who demonstrate rapid knowledge retention and recall through practice games may earn a chance to move up into the competition team (8-10 students per competition).
Weekly Practices:
Wednesdays 3:35 - 4:30 p.m.
Practice Materials:
We password-protect all our study material pages. Please email [email protected] if you forget the code.
Our academic team members can often be found quizzing each other during lunch, breaks, and at the end of classes. Former academic team members highly recommend using your free time to read and study (5 minutes here and there adds up). If you finish your classwork early, you can get a pass to the media center and borrow past questions or study computer-based quizzes. We also have lots of notebooks of former questions you may check out. Ask friends and family to quiz you.
Please contact Coach Lindy Pals (JMS Library Media Specialist) if you are interested in trying out. You are also welcome to come watch a practice to see if you would enjoy participating.
- you love watching Jeopardy
- you beg to play trivial pursuit
- people ask you to figure out their math problems
- you read incessantly...non-fiction too
- when you get in trouble, your parents threaten to hide your books :)
